Foossa Update: September 2013

Happy September everyone! Foossa has been traveling, workshopping, scheming, and designing up a storm lately.

Lee-Sean and DCR were in Boston last week to conduct a workshop with a major labor union about trends in social change organizing and how to adapt to new technologies and new business models. We had the honor of attending and presenting after Marshall Ganz's session (pictured below) about his decades of experience building movements.

Foossa was also representing at Squawkathon, a hackathon/design jam in Portland Oregon hosted by the Context Partners and the Packard Foundation. Billed as "a flock of nerds saving seabirds," Squawkathon  teams developed concepts for technologies, social games, and campaigns to help prevent the deaths of up to hundreds of thousands of seabirds caught as bycatch in commercial fishing operations. The team we were on was called "Fish or Foul."  You can check out our concept documentation on the Squawkathon wiki

In other project news, we recently designed the dynamic animated logo for the New York Bee Sanctuary. We have also started a couple of new collaborations with Purpose.
